Dave Stewart and his wife Margy both grew up just outside Washington, D.C. in Silver Spring, Maryland.  After graduating from the University of Maryland Dave spent 20 years as an Intelligence Officer in the U.S. Navy.  Upon retiring from the Navy in 1992 he joined the consulting firm of Booz Allen & Hamilton (BAH) in Northern Virginia.  While with BAH he continued to support the U.S. Intelligence Community as a Systems Engineer until retiring in 2008. 

As the Navy transferred Dave & Margy around the country they purchased residential and or investment properties at each assignment.  With each property Dave purchased he became more interested in the Real Estate profession.  With each purchase his appreciation grew for the importance of working with a knowledgeable agent who knew current local market conditions and was looking-out for his interests.   

Dave and Margy visited Smith Mountain lake for the first time in 2002.  They instantly  fell in love with the lake, purchased a water front lot and subsequently had their dream home built in Park Place.   Having spent many enjoyable weekends and vacations at their lake home, they became convinced Smith Mountain lake was where they wanted to live full-time.  In the spring of 2008 they sold their home in Fairfax, Virginia and they along with their dog, Lady, moved to the lake full-time.  Dave and Margy’s two sons, D.J. and Michael live in New York City and Atlanta, but with both cities only about a seven hour drive from the lake they are able to visit frequently.            

Knowing that he wanted his third career to be in Real Estate, Dave acquired his Real Estate Salesperson licenses in 2006 while living in Northern Virginia.  In Spring 2009 Dave joined Prudential Waterfront Properties because the Prudential Team offered the best tools and support, enabling him to provide superior service to his clients.  Dave stands ready and eager to help all clients, weather you’ve lived at the lake for years or are planning your first visit to Smith Mountain Lake, please give him a call.
